In 2024, Belize had an estimated mid-year population of about 411,000. Belmopan is the capital; Belize City, San Ignacio–Santa Elena, Orange Walk Town and Dangriga are other principal communities. The country has six districts.
Belize’s national flower is the black orchid, a striking native orchid whose yellow-green petals surround a deep purple-brown centre. Its name comes from that dark heart rather than an entirely black bloom. The orchid represents the country’s rich tropical flora, but it is best admired without treating wild plants as bouquet material. A Belize-inspired arrangement can borrow its contrast—fresh green, warm yellow and deep burgundy—using nursery-grown or florist-supplied flowers that suit the season.
Delivery is available Monday to Saturday, normally from 10:00 to 21:00. For same-day flower delivery in Belize, order before 18:00 local time and provide the full destination. Islands and remote lodges need advance planning.
